When did AG stop making the molded eyes? I have a AGT that has the inlay. I am sure of that one. However I just got a molly and she had the molded eyes but no tags to tell when she was made.

Here is what I know- it is in only the older dolls made from one manufacturer (probably Gotz) and happens to about 10% of the older dolls. AG will replace the head for free but when I called and spoke to a fab. customer service rep she told me if it did not bug me too much to just leave it alone as it could possibly make them more collectable. Most people send them back so the ones with the defect uncorrected make them all the more rare.

Doesn't AG offer a free head replacement for silver eye?

Eye balls....I just talked to another service rep. Some of these gals are awesome. She says she has been working there since the beginning of Pleasant CO.

The silver eye isn't a change in the eye colour. It is actually a sepperation of the back of the eye from the front. That is does happen in a small percentage of the dolls. She says that the old Gotz eyes are replaceable by AG warranty. However, they can not guarantee that the doll will not be altered a little.

What she says they do is they go in and heat the sockets and pop the eyes out and replace them. They do have some of the older eyes and heads in stock. Namely the Samantha, and Molly heads. I was asking about a new wig for Molly. But the replacement heads have the newer eyes. She actually told me that contacting a doll hospital outside of PC would be better for a new wig. I figured on that but thought I would ask about it anyhow. She brought up the silver eye because I had said I loved her Gotz eyes.

It is intresting what is said about laying down dolls and setting them upright as well as letting them breath when I get off I am going down stairs and let my dolls get some air into their boxes although I thought not exposing them to air was better. Yes I am a Barbie doll fan I admit it. One thing I have noticed at least about sliver eye it sounds almost like a dervance of crazy eye a doll eye problem happening when dolls had glass eyes. The glass would crack causing the eye to look well crazy. A lot of Shirley Temple dolls are suffering from crazy eye. I am a little bit confused on the eye thing. I have noticed one eye looks almost like a pinwheel while the other like in my Samantha doll is like a sunburst lines shooting out from the pupil. Which one is older? Which one is more likley to get sliver eye?

Just picked up ole white bodied Kirsten and she has pinwheel eyes. I have three dolls going out next week b/c of silver eye and will check what their eye shape is- after I reopen the box.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The older style, if I can describe it, OK well.....it kind of has a sparkley depth to it. I didn't understand it before I got a doll with the Gotz eyes. These are the eyes that develope problems. Anyone correct me if I am wrong in the descriptions or anything here

so, Kirsten our new doll has eyes that are blue with the raised pupil in the center, then there is like an etched line to make the "pinwheels" inside.
my AGoT doll, Emily or Emmy, she has the green eyes, and her eyes have an inlay of the dark green and lighter bright green. They don't have a real deep depth to them

However our older Molly. Now I could look into her eyes forever. They sparkle. They are a deep silvery, sparkley silver highlights, They almost look real. No matter which way you look at her they really sparkle.

Kirstens don't do that. They are more flat toned. I imagine that that is the real difference. The older eyes are brighter.

Did that take to long? Sorry if it did.
